England keeper Jordan Pickford’s pregnant fiancée shares pain of having ‘£500,000’ diamond engagement ring cut off after asking for ‘old wives tales’ to help free it from her swollen finger
Jordan Pickford’s pregnant fiancée has shared her agony after having her engagement ring cut off her swollen hand.
The England goalkeeper’s wife-to-be Megan Davidson shared photos of her finger turning purple after her ring – which is worth a reported £500,000 – cut into it.
The 22-year-old had taken to Instagram to appeal to followers for help and tried ‘old wives remedies’ before jewellers resorted to cutting the diamond ring off.
The swelling which left the ring cutting deep into Megan’s finger is thought to have been caused by water retention due to her pregnancy.
On Monday Megan posted a picture of her swollen hand over a bowl of iced water and wrote: ‘Anyone got any old wives tales tips on how to get my ring off?
‘Been told it’s gonna get the chop if I don’t get it off soon.’
An hour later she wrote: ‘Please help’ as her ring finger began to turn purple.
Two hours later she posted: ‘We’ve been to the jewellers for the chop.
‘Thanks so much everyone for the messages, I’ll try and reply once I have feeling back in my fingers.’
