Brigitte Macron‘s fashion choices raised eyebrows today after she wore a pair of trainers for a visit to an ancient temple in southern Egypt.

France‘s first lady, 65, sported a pair of Louis Vuitton Run Away sneakers for the engagement at the iconic Abu Simbel temple earlier today.

The shoes are not available to buy, but similar styles are priced at £635.

Mrs Macron joined her husband Emmanuel Macron for the visit, which is part of a three-day tour of the country.

Macron was received by Egypt’s Minister of Antiquities Khaled al-Anani and the director of the French Institute of Archaeology Laurent Bavay.
