Given that he spends most of his time trying to dodge death, it’s a wonder James Bond has any hair left to worry about.

But it’s understood that Daniel Craig is insisting his 007 will grow old gracefully and not dye his locks.

The 50-year-old star plans to flaunt his greying hair in his final outing as the spy legend. Craig begins filming his fifth Bond blockbuster next month and will shun dye to show off his salt-and-pepper patches so he appears ‘world-weary and mature’.

The film is scheduled to open in the UK next year. Craig, whose four Bond movies have raked in a total of £3 billion at the box office, famously bleached his hair for desert scenes in Quantum Of Solace, but had darker locks in movie promotional shots.

Sean Connery sported a hairpiece for many of his adventures, Roger Moore dyed his hair in films during the 1980s, and Pierce Brosnan used make-up to cover balding areas.

‘The next film is going to be the final journey of Daniel’s Bond so looking more world-weary and mature, a little beaten up, is essential,’ said a source.

‘The grey hair just adds to it.’
